i had about 12 hours to make a skirt for f.’s set. i wanted to make a simple piece (her prompts: “femme, weird, dark”) that was low/no-sew for her performance at this local lesbian club night. we had a piece of large scrap in the leather pile and this required one piece of asymmetrical leather. it felt a bit irresponsible to not pattern this and instead attempt to prototype in the piece of leather itself, but this kind of shortcut is frequently how i overcome the inertia to make something quickly despite the risk. ...

Getting better at mockups and shirt designing. Made this for Fait along with custom script and art. It has a custom illustration of “Sapphic Resistance” as well as her Euro tour dates from 2025 where she runs sound for Eris and Maya.

Made this after a Fleet Ilya piece that isn’t in production anymore but that I’ve always really admired. This was my first time developing a leather bra and it took just a few iterations. I altered the original FI design to allow the bra and the corset to be worn either separately or together. I tried to oil-dye jute for the back rope, and that did not go well at all because I used dip-dyeing and the rope has still not shed its excess oil after hours of buffing. I ended up just using plain jute for Fait’s Folsom performances. ...

I employed fog and small blue/red gel contrast for a bit of a glamour shoot with F. and horns that she built from scratch. I thought the gels were a needed element because of how black and featureless the horns are without angled illumination; this way you can see their form and depth more distinctly and it also lends the shots a bit more of a stylized polychromatic look. This came together very quickly since I work with F. a lot and I feel like they’re some of the most efficient but pro shots I’ve ever done <3 ...

i’ve been extremely entertained using stablediffusion lately. it seems extremely for fast prototyping of compositional ideas that can then be refined by hand – and given some images of significance, the morphs between them are addictive to watch. using deforum via stable diffusion webui, sourced with my own illustrations, looking forward to using the outputs from this pipeline as seeded inputs As of this writing, imo this is the best hydra set i’ve ever done. mapped to a rollup door behind the dj booth i don’t have a recording since this was a last-minute idea (about an hour before, f. asked me to do visuals), but i followed my constraints well (monochrome, minimal, all visuals would be derived from the fft spectrum, an emphasis on linearity), showed restraint in letting ideas play out rather than shift too jarringly, clearly demonstrated the idea to the audience, and felt embodied enough with the music that i really enjoyed myself. i was really happy with the result. ...

[finally uploading this after finding it hard to post on streaming services due to music copyright] this was a duo act myles and i put together during the pandemic for a virtual show called “e-go”, which was one of pseuda’s projects during their curatorial residency at counterpulse and ultimately streamed as a special presentation by princess (a drag night at oasis). we knew from the outset that it would be streamed virtually and choreographed it as such – mid-pandemic i had approached myles asking if he wanted to collaborate on a duo piece where we played with a nontraditional concept of being unable to occupy the same space. ...

this was my first hydra.js set: a collaboration with faited that we originally performed at ambient awakenings, then re-recorded in our studio to a small audience. i used a usb camera and manually controlled optical zoom to incorporate visuals of faited, and worked with her on the concepts of liquidity, flow, and distortion to accompany this set. unfortunately as the video progressed, my hardware couldn’t handle the required capture speed and it is very low framerate towards the end. ...
